•BANKING OPTIONS FOR US PLAYERS
Introduction
TIn mid-January 2007, the largest and most well known eWallet -- Neteller -- stopped allowing US players. Several other eWallets followed suit and also dropped US players. Since then transferring money to and from casinos has become awkward for US players. The remaining money transfer options include the following:
EcoCard -- EcoCard is an eWallet that allows US players. It is becoming the recommended choice with most Microgaming casinos. As of July 2007, it sounds like EcoCard will soon switch their US transfers to QuickTender. QuickTender appears to be a version of EcoCard specifically for US players.
eWalletXpress -- eWalletXpress is an alternative eWallet that allows US players. Unfortunately, it is not available with most casino groups.
Click2Pay -- Click2Pay allows existing US players, but does not allow new registrations. It is widely available at casinos for deposits and withdrawals to and from casinos. However, Click2Pay does not allow withdrawals from Click2Pay to a US bank. Note that many casino groups allow you to deposit by Click2Pay and withdraw by a different method.
Credit Cards / Debit Cards -- Credit Card / Debit Cards are available for deposits at almost all casinos. However, credit card withdrawals are rarely available at online casinos. Many US credit/debit cards do not allow transfers to online casinos. It has been my experience that transfers with my Wells Fargo credit/debit card are always accepted, while transfers with my MBNA credit card usually fail with Microgaming and usually succeed with RTG and World Gaming. Many have had positive results with gift cards.
Offshore Bank Accounts -- Setting up a bank account outside of the United States is a viable solution. Unfortunately, I do not have enough information to recommend specific banks at this time.
